Board of DirectorsThe Board of Directors of Hope Place Centres is a very caring group of individuals who serve with heartfelt wisdom and intelligent vision. They are committed to a minimum two years of service (often more). The governance focus of the board is on policies, strategic planning and fundraising activities for the continued success of Hope Place Centres. As a body of diverse professionals who come with corporate and non-profit experience, they are responsible for the fiduciary operations of Hope Place Centres and for policy direction and strategic planning. John Challinor: Chair, Board of Directors John Challinor II is Director of Corporate Affairs with a large beverage manufacturer. He is also a member of its leadership team. He has served in executive and senior advertising, industry and government affairs and public relations roles in Canada's technology and health sectors for more than 25 years. He began his career as a newspaper and television reporter and editor in the Southern Ontario market. He is a former municipal councillor (15 years) with the Corporation of the Town of Milton. He is also a former member of the Communications Committee (12 years), Information Technology Association of Canada (ITAC); former member of the Board of Directors (6 years), York Technology Association (YTA); and former member, The Voluntary Sector Network Support Program National Advisory Committee (VOLNET), Government of Canada (4-year Government appointment); and a former member of the Board of Directors (3 years), Milton Hydro Holdings Inc. Professionally, he is a member of the Board of Directors of Encorp Pacific Inc. as well as a member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Public Relations Society, Toronto chapter, and also serves the national Society as an APR examiner. On a personal level, in addition to his role as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hope Place, he serves as President of the Board of Directors of the Halton Conservative Association, member of the Board of Directors of Milton Historical Society and member of the Board of Directors of Milton Millennium Community Residences (MMCR). He is also a local historian and has published two books of local history. Board Members
