Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of Hope Place Centres is a very caring group of individuals who serve with heartfelt wisdom and intelligent vision. They are committed to a minimum two years of service (often more). The governance focus of the board is on policies, strategic planning and fundraising activities for the continued success of Hope Place Centres. As a body of diverse professionals who come with corporate and non-profit experience, they are responsible for the fiduciary operations of Hope Place Centres and for policy direction and strategic planning.

Mildred Frank: Chair, Board of Directors

Mildred Frank is an educator who spent over 30 years in the secondary schools of Ontario and Saskatchewan---part of this experience as a Roman Catholic sister. She was particularly recognized for the innovations she developed for delivering programs to students and for the success of the musical extravaganzas that she produced and directed.

She now spends her time speaking, directing retreats and delivering workshops that help people enhance the quality of their lives and improve relationships as they recover from addictions. She is much sought-after as a counsellor/spiritual director.  Mildred serves as the current Chair, Board of Directors.

Bonnie Cowan: Executive Officer

Bonnie Cowan holds a certified purchasing designation (CPP) from the Purchasing Association of Canada.  She is employed by the leading global software provider and is responsible for Strategic Sourcing.  The skills and abilities acquired in the business world have served as valuable tools in her effort to improve the lives of those suffering from addictions.  Bonnie is an advocate for the addictions community and works to engage funders and partners to ensure the doors of Hope Place Centres remain open.

Over the last 10 years she has held voluntary positions as Chair of the Alumnae, Volunteer Coordinator, and Special Events Planner.  Bonnie currently serves as the Chair of Fundraising.
