Living Sober

Living Sober is a bi-monthly psycho-educational group for women. It offers lectures, reflection sessions and group discussions on principles for achieving a richer spiritual experience while recovering from addictions.

Living Sober is open to women who are at varying stages in the recovery process, as well as women who are family members of those with addictions and / or women who have attended residential treatment and who have completed two years of aftercare at the treatment facility. Women may attend Living Sober for as long as they feel is necessary.

Living Sober is offered on alternate Tuesdays from 7-9 pm at the Hope Place Outpatient Centre, 77 Bronte Road, Suite 203, Oakville ON L6L 3B7.  For more information on dates and study topics call 905-465-3324.

Women attending the Living Sober group are provided with the tools to grow intellectually and spiritually while maintaining a substance-free lifestyle. Here they examine their life experiences, future visions, reactions to people, places and things and slowly, they change from being self-centred and feeling victimized to recognizing their power to shape their own reality. Structured exercises include reading, watching videos participating in homework exercises, taking responsibility on how their beliefs and actions impact and affect both their lives as well as others.

Women empowered by the Living Sober group have become contributing members in their families, workplace and community. Living Sober is funded by the United Way of Oakville.
