![]() Third Party EventsHost a THIRD PARTY EVENT!We are looking for individuals to host a Third Party Event in support of Hope Place Centres. This is a great way to show your support of our programs and initiatives. Third Party Events are events that will benefit Hope Place Centres, which are coordinated and executed by interested volunteers. Be creative and organize something you enjoy doing. Go for a walk, host a BBQ, or organize a dance! These are just a few examples of Third Party Events that represent ways to raise funds for Hope Place Centres. No event is too big or too small! Whatever the occasion, Hope Place Centres will be honoured to benefit from your event. Hope Place Centres’ staff will work with you every step of the way! We can guide you, and answer your questions about hosting a successful event; we value your commitment and want you to succeed. For more information please contact Hope Place Centres at (905) 878-1120, Ext.225. To ensure that all Third Party Events match with our vision, mandate and goals, we would ask that you complete the Third Party Event Proposal Form. Shanna’s StoryIn June 2008, friends and family joined me in a 20 km walk that I organized called The Road Not Taken. This event was in honour of my late brother Chris. Over the last years Chris had swayed back and forth between denial and asking for help, making it challenging to get treatment when it was welcomed. Chris was 30 when he passed away suddenly last May. Chris was smart, funny and infectious. Chris could make anyone laugh at their worst possible moment. Chris was an alcoholic. I started with a very small idea with efforts to help Hope Place Centres make their services more readily available. However, after speaking to more people, I discovered how many people have been touched by alcoholism and drug addiction. The $3000 raised at The Road Not Taken Walkathon was donated to Hope Places Centres, and will help support their programs.
